WHO WE ARE
We are a family run business that has been running for 34 years. Located on the N15 approximately 4.7 km from Lifford. Harkin Fireplaces began at Brian Harkin's former home at Glensmoile, near Lifford, and as the years progressed and the business grew he moved to his present location at Ballybogan, formally the house and outhouse of Brigadier Holmes.
Introducing: Pellet stoves
Can offer a much more efficient alternative to traditional wood burning stoves!
Why a pellet stove?
They are even more energy efficient than wood burners (more than 90% efficient). This is due to the fact they burn renewable fuel and the emit a relatively low level of airborne particulates. The pellets used comprise of sawdust, wood chips, bark and other materials from plants and very small. These stoves also require very little involvement and produces little ash and chimney crest and therefore will cut major cleaning costs. By slowly feeding feeding fuel into automatically from the storage container into the burn tray, a constant flame is created.
Advantages of pellet stoves:
-
They reduce heating bills and they are reliable.
-
Pellets are a renewable energy source and can be sourced locally.
-
Pellets are relatively cheap.
-
They release less harmful emissions into the environment than fossil fuels.
-
They allow precise control of heat distribution. They are also "heat on demand" appliances, like gas appliances.
-
Built in storage container allows them to operate on their own for about 12 hours under full load.
-
Pellet stoves are less pricey to operate then electric heater or oil heaters.
-
They come in a wide range of styles, colours and finishes so there is one to fit any decor!
